Carvedilol 12.5 mg (as carvedilol) tablet
Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), chronic heart failure, and left ventricular dysfunction after myocardial infarction (as prescribed).
Carvedilol is a non-selective beta-blocker with additional alpha-1 blocking activity. It reduces heart rate and myocardial oxygen demand and relaxes blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure and improving heart function in heart failure.
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Usually taken by mouth 1–2 times daily; take with food to reduce risk of dizziness/low blood pressure. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Do not stop abruptly (may worsen angina/heart failure). Use with caution in asthma/COPD/bronchospasm, diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia), liver impairment, kidney disease, peripheral vascular disease, and thyroid disorders. May cause dizziness—avoid driving until you know its effects. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly. Contraindicated in severe bradycardia, heart block (unless paced), cardiogenic shock, severe hypotension, and severe hepatic impairment.
