Cefakind 250 Tablet is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall), which is needed for them to survive.

How to take Cefakind 250

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cefakind 250 Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Cefakind 250 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Cefakind than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Cefakind 250

Most side effects of Cefakind are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Cefakind 250

Store Cefakind below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Expert advice for Cefakind 250

Complete the full course of Cefakind 250 Tablet exactly as prescribed, even if you start feeling better. Stopping Cefakind 250 Tablet early may allow the infection to return and become harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur while taking Cefakind 250 Tablet; stay hydrated and consult your doctor if it becomes severe or persistent. Drink plenty of fluids if diarrhea occurs and watch for signs of dehydration. Stop taking Cefakind 250 Tablet and seek immediate medical help if you develop a rash, itching, swelling of the face or mouth, or difficulty breathing. Inform your doctor if you have previously had allergic reactions to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve within a few days of starting treatment. Report severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, or signs of dehydration to your doctor promptly. Notify your doctor if you develop symptoms such as itching or discharge that may indicate a yeast infection after antibiotic use.
