A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Concor 10 Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Concor 10 Tablet contains Bisoprolol (10mg). It belongs to the Cardioselective beta-blocker (Beta-1 adrenergic blocker) class of medicines.
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure) and chronic stable angina (chest pain). Also used in chronic heart failure as prescribed by a doctor.
Bisoprolol is a selective beta-1 adrenergic blocker. It reduces heart rate and the force of contraction, lowering blood pressure and decreasing the heart’s oxygen demand, which helps relieve angina and improves cardiac function in heart failure.
Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Concor as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Concor than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Concor are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Use with caution / Consult doctor |
|---|---|
| Alcohol | Use with caution (may increase dizziness and low blood pressure) |
| Habit forming | No |
Do not stop abruptly (may worsen angina/heart attack risk). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, and in patients with bradycardia, heart block, or severe hypotension. In heart failure, dose titration is required and monitoring of pulse/BP is important. Seek medical help for wheezing, fainting, very slow pulse, or swelling/weight gain.
Verapamil, diltiazem, amiodarone or other antiarrhythmics (risk of bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (increased bradycardia risk), clonidine (rebound hypertension if stopped improperly), other antihypertensives/diuretics (additive BP lowering), NSAIDs (may reduce antihypertensive effect), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycemia), anesthetic agents
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
