Dapagliflozin 5 mg + Metformin 500 mg (as Metformin Hydrochloride) tablets

Uses of Diablin M 5/500MG Tab

Type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve blood glucose control along with diet and exercise; may be used when single-agent therapy is inadequate.

• •Improves insulin sensitivity and reduces liver glucose output
• •Promotes urinary glucose excretion with mild weight benefit
• •Low risk of hypoglycaemia when used without insulin/secretagogues

How it works

Dapagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, increasing urinary glucose excretion and lowering blood sugar. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, reducing glucose absorption and improving peripheral uptake.

Directions for use

Oral tablet. Take as prescribed, usually once or twice daily with meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew. Maintain adequate hydration and follow diet/exercise advice; monitor blood glucose regularly.
