Glimepiride (2mg) + Metformin (500mg) + Voglibose (0.3mg)
Diapride M2 HV Tablet is used for type 2 diabetes mellitus with inadequate control on dual therapy, especially for post-meal (postprandial) glucose spikes.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated September 2026
Diapride M2 HV Tablet contains Glimepiride (2mg) + Metformin (500mg) + Voglibose (0.3mg). It belongs to the Sulfonylurea + Biguanide + Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor class of medicines.
Glimepiride increases insulin secretion from the pancreas. Metformin reduces liver glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity. Voglibose inhibits intestinal alpha-glucosidase enzymes, delaying carbohydrate absorption and reducing post-meal glucose rise.
Take with the first bite of a main meal or as directed by doctor (voglibose works best with meals). Do not crush/chew sustained-release metformin tablets. Monitor blood glucose; do not skip meals to reduce hypoglycaemia risk.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Diapride M1 Tablet PR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
An overdose of this medicine can cause severe and prolonged low blood sugar, which may lead to fits or unconsciousness. It can cause a dangerous build-up of acid in the blood, with vomiting, severe weakness and laboured breathing. It may cause low blood sugar and marked stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Diapride M2 HV are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Hypoglycaemia risk due to glimepiride; treat low sugar with glucose (not sucrose) if on alpha-glucosidase inhibitor. Metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis; avoid in severe kidney impairment and during dehydration/acute illness; monitor renal function. Voglibose may cause significant gas/diarrhoea; use caution in inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction, or chronic intestinal disorders.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney or liver disease. Not for people with severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an acute illness causing dehydration. Not for people who have had diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with heart failure, active bladder cancer or unexplained blood in the urine.
Alcohol, iodinated contrast media (hold metformin), insulin/other antidiabetics (hypoglycaemia), beta-blockers (mask symptoms), azole antifungals (increase sulfonylurea effect), corticosteroids/diuretics (increase glucose), digestive enzyme preparations/intestinal adsorbents (reduce voglibose effect)
Store below 30°C, protect from heat and moisture, keep in original packaging
You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Diapride M1 Tablet PR. Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine. It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Inform your doctor about your diabetes treatment if you are due to have surgery under a general anesthetic. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing or if you have persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Diapride M1 Tablet PR may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
