Composition

Dapagliflozin 5 mg + Glimepiride 2 mg + Metformin 500 mg (as Metformin HCl) per tablet

Uses of Gemerdapa 5/2/500 Tab

Type 2 diabetes mellitus: to improve blood glucose control in adults when diet and exercise alone or current therapy is inadequate.

• •Lowers fasting and post-meal blood sugar
• •Improves insulin sensitivity
• •Reduces glucose reabsorption leading to glucose loss in urine
• •Helps achieve better HbA1c control with combination therapy
• •May support modest weight reduction (dapagliflozin component)

How it works

Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity. Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from pancreatic beta cells. Dapagliflozin (an SGLT2 inhibitor) increases urinary glucose excretion by reducing glucose reabsorption in the kidneys.

Directions for use

Oral tablet; take exactly as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily with food (preferably with the first main meal) to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew. Monitor blood glucose regularly.
