Glycozide Mp Tablet contains Gliclazide (80mg) + Pioglitazone (15mg) + Metformin (500mg).
Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Glycozide MP 80mg/15mg/500mg Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines: Gliclazide, Pioglitazone and Metformin. They work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood sugar when single or dual therapy is not effective. Gliclazide is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which increases insulin sensitivity. Metformin is a biguanide. It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and further increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glycozide MP 80mg/15mg/500mg Tablet should be taken with or after food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Glycozide MP 80mg/15mg/500mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Glycozide Mp than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Glycozide Mp are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Glycozide Mp. Some combinations can change how Glycozide Mp works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Glycozide Mp below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Glycozide MP 80mg/15mg/500mg Tablet is a combination of three medicines that provides better blood sugar control than either medicine alone. You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Glycozide MP 80mg/15mg/500mg Tablet. Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine. It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxiety. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
