Composition of Janerve Injection

Janerve Injection contains Pyridoxine (100mg/2ml) + Niacinamide (100mg/2ml) + Methylcobalamin (1000mcg/2ml) + Benzyl Alcohol (1.5%v/v) + D-Panthenol (50mg/2ml). It belongs to the Vitamins (B1/B3/B5/B6/B12 combination; neurotropic vitamins) class of medicines.

How Janerve Injection works

This injection replenishes essential B-vitamins. Methylcobalamin supports myelin sheath maintenance and nerve repair; pyridoxine and niacinamide aid neurotransmitter and energy metabolism; dexpanthenol supports coenzyme A formation and cellular repair, helping reduce deficiency-related neuropathic symptoms.

How to take Janerve Injection

Parenteral use only. Administer IM or slow IV only under medical supervision; dose and frequency as advised by the physician based on deficiency/clinical response. Do not self-inject; check for particulate matter/discoloration before use.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Janerve as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Janerve than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Janerve Injection

Most side effects of Janerve are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• redness or swelling
• nausea
• vomiting
• headache
• dizziness
• flushing
• rash
• itching
• diarrhea

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Janerve Injection

Warnings and precautions

For use under medical supervision only. Do not use if allergic to any component (including benzyl alcohol). Use caution in severe liver disease, peptic ulcer disease or gout (niacinamide-related), and in patients with Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy (vitamin B12 may worsen optic neuropathy). Rare hypersensitivity reactions can occur—seek medical help for breathing difficulty, swelling, or severe rash. Monitor if used for prolonged periods/high doses (risk of sensory neuropathy with excessive pyridoxine).

Interactions with other medicines

Levodopa without carbidopa (pyridoxine may reduce effect), isoniazid/penicillamine/cycloserine (increase B6 requirement), chloramphenicol (may reduce hematologic response to vitamin B12), metformin and proton pump inhibitors/H2 blockers (may reduce B12 levels with long-term use), alcohol (may worsen deficiency/neuropathy)
