Kojimed Cream contains Vitamin E (1%w/w) + Mulberry Extract (1%w/w) + Kojic Acid (2%w/w) + Arbutin (1.5%w/w) + Octinoxate (7.5%w/w). It belongs to the Antioxidant / trace element supplement, Vitamin and mineral supplement and Skin preparation class of medicines.
This medicine combines 5 active ingredients: Vitamin e, Mulberry Extract, Kojic Acid, Arbutin and Octinoxate. Vitamin e supplies a nutrient that helps protect body cells from everyday oxidative wear and supports normal immune function. Mulberry Extract supplies a vitamin, mineral or nutrient that your diet may not be providing in sufficient amount. Kojic Acid acts on the skin to treat or soothe the condition it is prescribed for. Arbutin acts on the skin to treat or soothe the condition it is prescribed for. Octinoxate acts on the skin to treat or soothe the condition it is prescribed for.
Clean and dry the affected area, then apply a thin layer and rub it in gently. Wash your hands before and after use, unless your hands are the area being treated. This is for use on the skin only — do not swallow it. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Apply it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for the next application, skip the missed one — applying extra does not make up for it.
An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, stomach pain and, with some minerals, damage over the longer term. It can cause vomiting and stomach pain, and with iron can be dangerous, especially in children. It is unlikely from skin use; swallowing the preparation may cause stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Kojimed are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

A supplement supports a normal diet; it does not prevent or treat infection. Zinc on an empty stomach commonly causes nausea — take it with food. Very high doses of vitamin A over a long period can be harmful, particularly in pregnancy. Do not take several products containing the same nutrient at once; the totals add up. A supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating the cause of a symptom. Iron makes stools black and can cause constipation — this is expected, but tell your doctor if it troubles you. Keep iron-containing products well out of reach of children; an overdose in a small child is a medical emergency. Check the labels of everything you take so you do not double up on the same nutrient. For external use only, unless the pack says otherwise. Stop if the skin becomes more irritated, and see a doctor if the condition worsens or spreads. Do a small test patch first if you have sensitive skin.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for use on broken or infected skin unless prescribed.
Zinc and other minerals reduce the absorption of some antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner, as high-dose vitamin E can add to its effect. Iron, calcium, zinc and magnesium reduce the absorption of thyroid tablets and several antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tea and coffee taken with iron reduce how much is absorbed; vitamin C increases it. No significant interactions are expected from preparations used on the skin.
Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Close the cap tightly after each use. Keep out of the reach of children.
Take it with food to reduce nausea. A varied diet remains the best source of these nutrients. Take it with food unless the pack says otherwise. Have deficiencies confirmed and rechecked by blood test rather than supplementing indefinitely. Apply a thin layer to clean, dry skin. Wash your hands after use.
