Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Maxiflo 100 R/C contains Formoterol (6mcg) + Fluticasone Propionate (100mcg).
Treatment of Asthma
Maxiflo 100 Rotacap is a combination of two medicines: Formoterol and Fluticasone Propionate. Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widening them. Fluticasone Propionate is a steroid. It works by stopping the release of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.
Rotacaps must not be swallowed. Check the label for directions before use. Place the capsule at the base of rotahaler, not in the mouthpiece. Twist the mouthpiece completely until your hear a click and breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece. Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds. If some powder remains in the rotahaler repeat the process.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Maxiflo 100 Rotacap, use it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Maxiflo than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Maxiflo are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Maxiflo. Some combinations can change how Maxiflo works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Maxiflo below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Maxiflo 100 Rotacap is a combination of two medicines that open the airways and make it easier to breathe. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help. Gargle with warm water after each inhalation to avoid any fungal infections in your mouth and throat. Only minuscule amounts of Maxiflo 100 Rotacap may get absorbed into the bloodstream after inhalation. Hence, serious side effects are unlikely.
