How Maxiflo 100 R/C works
Maxiflo 100 Rotacap is a combination of two medicines: Formoterol and Fluticasone Propionate. Formoterol is a long-acting bronchodilator that works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widening them. Fluticasone Propionate is a steroid. It works by stopping the release of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) of the airways. Together, they make breathing easier.
How to take Maxiflo 100 R/C
Rotacaps must not be swallowed. Check the label for directions before use. Place the capsule at the base of rotahaler, not in the mouthpiece. Twist the mouthpiece completely until your hear a click and breathe in deeply through the mouthpiece. Hold your breath for up to 10 seconds. If some powder remains in the rotahaler repeat the process.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

If you miss a dose of Maxiflo 100 Rotacap, use it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, marked tremor, headache and a fall in blood potassium. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions
Know which of your inhalers is the reliever and which is the preventer. A preventer must be used every day even when you feel well; a reliever is for symptoms. Seek emergency care if your reliever is not working, if you cannot speak a full sentence, or if you are using the reliever far more often than usual. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out after every steroid inhaler dose to prevent thrush and hoarseness. Maxiflo 100 Rotacap is a combination of two medicines that open the airways and make it easier to breathe. It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Use your rescue inhaler to control sudden difficulty in breathing. Dry mouth may occur as a side effect. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake, and sugarless candy may help. Gargle with warm water after each inhalation to avoid any fungal infections in your mouth and throat. Only minuscule amounts of Maxiflo 100 Rotacap may get absorbed into the bloodstream after inhalation. Hence, serious side effects are unlikely.
