Composition of Razo D Capsule

Razo D Capsule contains Domperidone (30mg) + Rabeprazole (20mg). It belongs to the Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) class of medicines.

How Razo D Capsule works

Rabeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that irreversibly blocks the gastric H+/K+ ATPase (proton pump) in parietal cells. This markedly reduces stomach acid secretion, relieving reflux symptoms and allowing ulcers/erosions to heal.

How to take Razo D Capsule

Oral capsule: take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily, preferably before food (often in the morning). Swallow whole; do not crush, chew, or open the capsule. If used with antibiotics for H. pylori, follow the full regimen and duration.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Razo-D Capsule SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause drowsiness, disorientation and abnormal muscle movements. It may cause confusion, blurred vision, sweating and a fast heartbeat. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Razo D Capsule

Most side effects of Razo D are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• abdominal pain
• flatulence
• vomiting
• dizziness
• constipation

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Long-term or high-dose use may increase risk of low magnesium (hypomagnesemia), vitamin B12 deficiency, bone fractures, and certain infections (e.g., C. difficile diarrhea). Seek medical advice if black stools, persistent diarrhea, severe abdominal pain, or unexplained weight loss occur. Use with caution in severe liver disease. May cause false-negative results in certain gastric tests and affect chromogranin A testing; may mask symptoms of gastric malignancy—evaluate alarm symptoms. Not intended for immediate relief of acute heartburn.

Do not take Razo D if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with bleeding, blockage or perforation of the gut, or with certain heart rhythm disorders.

Interactions with other medicines

Atazanavir/nelfinavir (avoid), warfarin (monitor INR), digoxin (monitor levels), methotrexate high-dose (may increase levels), ketoconazole/itraconazole/posaconazole (reduced absorption), erlotinib (reduced effect), clopidogrel (possible reduced activation; discuss with doctor), iron salts (reduced absorption), rifampicin and St John’s wort (may reduce PPI effect)

How to store Razo D Capsule

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and light. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.

Take Razo-D Capsule SR one hour before the meal, preferably in the morning. It is a well-tolerated medicine and provides relief for a long time. Inform your doctor if you experience watery diarrhea, fever, or stomach pain that persists. Inform your doctor if you do not feel better after taking it for 14 days, as you may be suffering from some other problem that needs attention. Long-term use can cause weak bones and a deficiency of minerals such as magnesium. Take adequate dietary intake of calcium and magnesium or their supplements as prescribed by your doctor. Use Razo-D Capsule SR with caution if you are taking Methotrexate or certain Antiviral drugs. Always inform your doctor about these treatments so appropriate monitoring or adjustments can be made. Focus on simple eating habits such as having smaller, more frequent meals, avoiding very spicy or oily foods, and not lying down immediately after eating. Try to identify personal trigger foods, as these can vary from person to person. Maintaining a regular meal routine and a healthy weight can also help reduce symptoms over time.
