Salbutamol 200 mcg per metered dose (inhalation aerosol)
Relief and prevention of bronchospasm in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness; prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm
Salbutamol is a short-acting beta-2 agonist (SABA). It relaxes smooth muscles in the airways causing bronchodilation, which quickly eases wheeze and breathlessness.
For inhalation use only. Use the inhaler exactly as prescribed; commonly 1–2 puffs when needed for symptom relief or 10–15 minutes before exercise. Shake well before use, exhale fully, press canister while inhaling slowly and deeply, hold breath for ~10 seconds, then exhale; use a spacer if advised. If using other inhalers, take this reliever first unless instructed otherwise.
Common side effects of SEROBID INH 200 MD 120MD may include:
Do not exceed recommended doses; frequent need for reliever may indicate worsening asthma—seek medical review. Use with caution in heart disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, and seizure disorders. May cause hypokalaemia especially with high doses or with diuretics/corticosteroids; seek help if chest pain, severe palpitations, worsening breathlessness, or paradoxical bronchospasm occurs. Not a substitute for maintenance inhaled corticosteroid therapy if prescribed.
