How Tazret Gel works

Tazret Gel is a form of vitamin A. It works by slowing down the rapid growth of skin cells and blocking certain substances that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) on the skin. This reduces scaling and thickening of the skin in psoriasis and clears acne.

How to take Tazret Gel

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the gel. Wash your hands after applying, unless hands are the affected area.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Tazret Gel, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not apply extra to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Tazret than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Tazret are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Tazret Gel

Store Tazret below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Tazret Gel should be applied as per the dose and duration suggested by the doctor. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Wash your hands properly before and after applying the medicine. Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Avoid exposing your skin to strong sunlight, use a sunscreen lotion, or make sure your skin is protected with clothing. Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects. Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment.
