Tendofirm Capsule contains Chondroitin (100mg) + Collagen (200mg) + Mucopolysaccharides (50mg) + Hyaluronic Acid (75mg). It belongs to the Vitamin and mineral supplement, Protein and amino-acid supplement and Moisturiser / skin barrier repair class of medicines.
This medicine combines 4 active ingredients: Chondroitin, Collagen, Mucopolysaccharides and Hyaluronic Acid. Chondroitin supplies a vitamin, mineral or nutrient that your diet may not be providing in sufficient amount. Collagen supplies protein and amino acids, the building blocks your body uses to repair and maintain muscle and tissue. Mucopolysaccharides holds water in the skin and restores the barrier that dry, damaged skin has lost. Hyaluronic Acid holds water in the skin and restores the barrier that dry, damaged skin has lost.
Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not chew, crush or break it unless your doctor has told you to. Take it with or after food. Taking it at about the same time each day helps you remember. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting and stomach pain, and with iron can be dangerous, especially in children. It may cause stomach upset and, with prolonged excess, puts avoidable load on the kidneys. It is not a realistic risk from a moisturiser used on the skin. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
Most side effects of Tendofirm are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

| Breastfeeding | Consult your doctor before using this while breastfeeding. |

| Kidney | Consult your doctor if you have kidney disease. |
| Liver | Use with caution if you have liver disease — your doctor may adjust the dose or monitor your liver function. |

A supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating the cause of a symptom. Iron makes stools black and can cause constipation — this is expected, but tell your doctor if it troubles you. Keep iron-containing products well out of reach of children; an overdose in a small child is a medical emergency. Check the labels of everything you take so you do not double up on the same nutrient. Tell your doctor before taking a protein supplement if you have kidney disease — the protein load matters. Drink plenty of water while taking a protein supplement. Check the label for milk or soy if you have an allergy or are lactose intolerant. Apply generously and often — several times a day, and always within a few minutes of a bath while the skin is still damp. Some paraffin-based emollients are flammable when they soak into clothing and bedding. Keep away from open flames and cigarettes. Stop if the skin becomes more red, itchy or sore after use.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with inherited disorders of amino-acid metabolism, or with a known allergy to the protein source.
Iron, calcium, zinc and magnesium reduce the absorption of thyroid tablets and several antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tea and coffee taken with iron reduce how much is absorbed; vitamin C increases it. No significant medicine interactions are expected for most protein supplements. No significant interactions are expected.
Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.
Take it with food unless the pack says otherwise. Have deficiencies confirmed and rechecked by blood test rather than supplementing indefinitely. Mix it as directed on the pack; a thicker mix is not a stronger one. Use it alongside meals, not instead of them, unless your dietitian has said otherwise. Use lukewarm water, a soap substitute and short baths. Smooth it on in the direction the hair grows rather than rubbing it in hard. Keep using it when the skin looks normal — that is what prevents the next flare.
