Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Tenepride Pm 1000 contains Metformin (1000mg) + Pioglitazone (15mg) + Teneligliptin (20mg).
Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Tenepride PM 1000mg/15mg/20mg Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medications: metformin, pioglitazone, and teneligliptin. Metformin decreases the amount of glucose absorbed from your food and the amount of glucose made by the liver. It also increases the body's response to insulin, a natural substance that controls the amount of glucose in the blood. Pioglitazone primarily acts on muscle, fat, and liver cells to enhance their insulin response, making it easier for these cells to take up glucose from the bloodstream. It also reduces the production of glucose by the liver, which is a common problem in people with type 2 diabetes. Teneligliptin increases the release of insulin from the pancreas and decreases the hormone (glucagon) that raises blood sugar levels. This reduces fasting and post-meal sugar levels.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tenepride PM 1000mg/15mg/20mg Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Tenepride PM 1000mg/15mg/20mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Tenepride Pm than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Tenepride Pm are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
