Atorvastatin 10 mg
Used to treat high cholesterol (hypercholesterolaemia) and mixed dyslipidaemia; helps reduce risk of heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular events in at-risk patients.
Atorvastatin is a statin (HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor) that reduces cholesterol production in the liver. It lowers LDL (bad cholesterol) and triglycerides and can modestly increase HDL (good cholesterol), helping prevent plaque buildup in arteries.
Oral tablet. Take as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Continue diet and lifestyle measures; do not stop without medical advice.
Common side effects of TONACT 10 may include:
Contraindicated in active liver disease or unexplained persistent transaminase elevation. Risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis—seek care for unexplained muscle pain/tenderness/weakness, especially with fever or dark urine. Monitor liver function if clinically indicated. Use caution in alcohol use, hypothyroidism, renal impairment, elderly, and with interacting medicines. Not recommended in pregnancy; avoid breastfeeding.
