Composition of Triplixam Tablet

Triplixam Tablet contains Perindopril arginine 10 mg + Indapamide 2.5 mg + Amlodipine 10 mg (per tablet). It belongs to the ACE inhibitor + Thiazide-like diuretic + Calcium channel blocker class of medicines.

How Triplixam Tablet works

Perindopril (ACE inhibitor) relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II formation. Indapamide (thiazide-like diuretic) reduces excess salt and water to lower blood volume. Amlodipine (calcium channel blocker) relaxes arterial smooth muscle, improving blood flow and lowering blood pressure.

How to take Triplixam Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day; commonly taken in the morning. May be taken with or without food; swallow whole with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, with dizziness, fainting and a fast or slow pulse. Warnings and precautions

Prescription-only antihypertensive. Can cause dizziness/low BP—use caution while driving and when standing up. Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes (especially potassium and sodium). Not recommended in pregnancy; stop and consult doctor immediately if pregnant. Use caution in kidney impairment, liver disease, dehydration, low sodium, aortic stenosis, heart failure, and history of angioedema. Avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless advised. Seek urgent care for facial/lip swelling, breathing difficulty (angioedema).

Do not take Triplixam if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy — it can seriously harm the developing baby. Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines. Not for people who are unable to pass urine, or who are severely dehydrated. Not for people with very low blood pressure or with severe narrowing of the aortic valve.

Interactions with other medicines

NSAIDs (reduced effect, kidney risk), potassium-sparing diuretics/potassium supplements (hyperkalemia), lithium (toxicity), other antihypertensives and diuretics (additive hypotension), aliskiren/ARBs (renal risk, hyperkalemia), CYP3A4 inhibitors like clarithromycin/azoles (may increase amlodipine), grapefruit juice (may increase amlodipine effect), alcohol (increases dizziness/low BP)

How to store Triplixam Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Triplixam Tablet

Blood pressure medicines work only while you take them — do not stop because you feel well. Tell your doctor at once if you become pregnant or are planning a pregnancy. Keep a home blood-pressure record if your doctor has asked for one. Weigh yourself at the same time each day if you have heart failure, and report a rapid gain. Do not add extra salt, and ask before using a potassium-based salt substitute. Raising your legs when sitting, and reducing salt, helps with ankle swelling. Do not stop suddenly without asking your doctor.
