A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Volix R 0.3/0.5 mg Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Volix R 0.3/0.5 mg Tablet contains Repaglinide (1mg) + Voglibose (0.3mg).
Treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus
Repaglinide and voglibose help control blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Repaglinide increases the release of insulin after meals, helping the body manage rises in blood sugar. Voglibose slows down the digestion and absorption of carbohydrates from food, which helps prevent sudden spikes in blood sugar after eating. Together, they support better post-meal blood sugar control.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Volix R 0.3/1 Tablet is to be taken on an empty stomach.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Volix R 0.3/1 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Volix R 0.3/0.5 mg than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Volix R 0.3/0.5 mg. Some combinations can change how Volix R 0.3/0.5 mg works or raise the chance of side effects.

Volix R 0.3/1 Tablet is a combination medicine that can control blood sugar better than either medicine alone. Exercise, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Volix R 0.3/1 Tablet. Take it around 15 minutes before a main meal. It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay a meal. Check your blood sugar regularly. Always carry some sugary food to manage hypoglycemia symptoms (cold sweats, pale skin, tremors, and anxiety).
