Compare all substitutes
Same salt, different brand — what does that mean?

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Volix Trio Forte 1 Tablet. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.

All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.

Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.

Composition of Volix Trio Forte 1 Tablet

Volix Trio Forte 1 Tablet contains Glimepiride (1mg) + Metformin (500mg) + Voglibose (0.2mg). It belongs to the Biguanide + Sulfonylurea + Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor class of medicines.

Uses of Volix Trio Forte 1 Tablet

Type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are not enough; used to improve blood glucose control (fasting and post‑meal) under medical supervision.

Key benefits

  • Lowers fasting and post‑meal blood glucose
  • Improves insulin sensitivity and reduces hepatic glucose output
  • Reduces post‑prandial glucose spikes
  • Helps achieve better HbA1c control in Type 2 diabetes

How Volix Trio Forte 1 Tablet works

Voglibose delays intestinal carbohydrate absorption by inhibiting alpha‑glucosidase, reducing post‑meal glucose spikes. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity. Glimepiride increases insulin release from the pancreas, helping lower blood glucose.

How to take Volix Trio Forte 1 Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed. Typically taken once daily with the first main meal; swallow whole (do not crush/chew due to SR metformin). Voglibose component works best when taken just before or with meals; follow your doctor’s timing instructions. Monitor blood sugar regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Volix Trio Forte as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Volix Trio Forte than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
