Volstar 10 mg Tablet contains Vonoprazan (10mg). It belongs to the Statin (HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor) class of medicines.

How Volstar 10 mg Tablet works

Atorvastatin is a statin that inhibits HMG‑CoA reductase, reducing cholesterol synthesis in the liver. It lowers LDL (“bad” cholesterol) and triglycerides and can modestly raise HDL, helping reduce atherosclerotic risk.

How to take Volstar 10 mg Tablet

Tablet for oral use. Take once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed. Continue diet and lifestyle changes; do not stop without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Volstar 10mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause confusion, blurred vision, sweating and a fast heartbeat. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Volstar 10 mg Tablet

Most side effects of Volstar are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• nausea
• indigestion
• muscle pain
• weakness
• increased liver enzymes

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Contraindicated in active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of liver enzymes. Use with caution in history of liver disease, heavy alcohol use, hypothyroidism, kidney problems, or in elderly due to higher risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis—seek care for unexplained muscle pain/weakness or dark urine. Periodic liver function tests may be advised.

Do not take Volstar if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack.

Interactions with other medicines

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (clarithromycin, erythromycin, ketoconazole/itraconazole, protease inhibitors), cyclosporine, gemfibrozil and other fibrates, niacin, ezetimibe (increased myopathy risk), warfarin (may alter INR), digoxin (levels may increase), grapefruit juice (increases atorvastatin levels)

How to store Volstar 10 mg Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.

Before taking Volstar 10mg Tablet, tell your doctor if you are allergic to it. Inform your doctor if you have liver/kidney problems. Inform your doctor if you have low magnesium, calcium, or potassium in your blood or you are taking a medicine to increase urine (diuretic).
