How Zyrcold Dc Syrup works
Dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex by acting on the cough center in the brain. Phenylephrine is a nasal decongestant that constricts swollen nasal blood vessels to relieve blockage. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.
How to take Zyrcold Dc Syrup
Oral syrup; take as prescribed by a doctor. Measure with a dosing cup/spoon; usually taken 2–3 times daily. Can be taken with or without food; take after food if stomach upset occurs. Do not exceed recommended dose and avoid use for more than a few days unless advised.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe drowsiness, a racing heart and, with codeine, dangerously slow breathing. It can cause severe drowsiness, a fast heartbeat, confusion and, in children, agitation and fits. May cause marked drowsiness—avoid driving or operating machinery. Do not use with/within 14 days of MAO inhibitors. Use with caution in hypertension, heart disease, thyroid disorder, diabetes, glaucoma, enlarged prostate/urinary retention, liver disease, asthma/COPD. Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Codeine-containing preparations are not for children, or for anyone with breathing difficulty. The sedating antihistamines are not suitable for very young children, or for people with glaucoma or an enlarged prostate, without medical advice.

MAO inhibitors (serious reactions), SSRIs/SNRIs/TCAs/linezolid/triptans (risk of serotonin syndrome with dextromethorphan), other sedatives/CNS depressants (increased drowsiness), antihypertensives (reduced effect), other decongestants/sympathomimetics (increased BP/heart rate), anticholinergics (increased dryness/urinary retention)
