Advastat Cv 10 Capsule contains Rosuvastatin (10mg) + Clopidogrel (75mg). It belongs to the P2Y12 inhibitor (clopidogrel) + HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor/statin (atorvastatin) class of medicines.

How Advastat Cv 10 Capsule works

Atorvastatin is an HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor that reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver, lowering LDL and triglycerides and stabilizing atherosclerotic plaques. Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet that irreversibly blocks the platelet P2Y12 (ADP) receptor, reducing platelet aggregation and clot formation.

How to take Advastat Cv 10 Capsule

Take orally as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush or open. Continue long-term unless your doctor tells you to stop.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of ADVastat 10 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses within 12 hours.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause immediate harm but may increase the risk of muscle and liver injury. It can cause serious and difficult-to-control bleeding. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Do not take Advastat Cv if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Not for people with active liver disease. Not for people with active bleeding, a bleeding disorder, or a recent bleed into the brain.

Interactions with other medicines

Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (clarithromycin, erythromycin, ketoconazole/itraconazole, protease inhibitors), grapefruit juice (raises atorvastatin levels); gemfibrozil, other fibrates, high-dose niacin (myopathy risk); warfarin and other anticoagulants, aspirin/NSAIDs, SSRIs/SNRIs (bleeding risk); omeprazole/esomeprazole (may reduce clopidogrel activation); rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine (may reduce atorvastatin effect)

ADVastat 10 Tablet is generally safe and well-tolerated; however, it may cause diarrhea, gas, or an upset stomach in some people. If any of these happen to you, take it with food. Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness, or muscle pain. Your doctor may check your liver function before starting the treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you notice signs of liver problems, such as stomach pains, unusually dark urine, or yellowing of skin or eyes. Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or diabetes before starting treatment with this medicine. If you are diabetic, monitor your blood sugar level regularly, as ADVastat 10 Tablet may cause an increase in your blood sugar level. Do not take ADVastat 10 Tablet if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
