How Amifru-S Tablet works

Amifru-S Tablet contains two medicines: furosemide and spironolactone, which act on different parts of the kidney to remove excess fluid. Furosemide is a short-acting loop diuretic that helps the kidneys eliminate sodium, chloride, and water through urine, thereby reducing fluid overload and blood pressure. Spironolactone is a long-acting aldosterone antagonist that promotes the excretion of sodium and water while conserving potassium, helping maintain electrolyte balance and preventing potassium loss during treatment.

How to take Amifru-S Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amifru-S Tablet should be taken with or after food. Avoid Amifru-S Tablet with dietary sodium.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Amifru-S Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Amifru-S than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Amifru-S Tablet helps remove excess water from your body. Take it in the morning with breakfast to avoid getting up at night to urinate. It may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Don't drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. It may cause excessive urine production, dehydration, and low electrolyte levels. Notify your doctor if you experience dizziness, tiredness, or muscle weakness that doesn't go away. Your doctor may regularly monitor your blood pressure, kidney function, and the level of salts such as potassium and sodium in your blood while you're taking this medication.
