Composition of Artigrel-90 mg Tablet

Artigrel-90 mg Tablet contains Ticagrelor 90 mg. It belongs to the P2Y12 platelet inhibitor class of medicines.

Uses of Artigrel-90 mg Tablet

• Prevention of atherothrombotic events (heart attack

• cardiovascular death) in adults with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) or history of myocardial infarction; used with low-dose aspirin unless contraindicated.

How Artigrel-90 mg Tablet works

Ticagrelor is an oral antiplatelet medicine that reversibly inhibits the P2Y12 ADP receptor on platelets. This prevents platelet activation and aggregation, thereby reducing formation of harmful clots in coronary arteries.

How to take Artigrel-90 mg Tablet

Tablet for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually with low-dose aspirin. Can be taken with or without food; swallow with water (may be taken after crushing if unable to swallow as advised by doctor). Do not stop suddenly without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause serious and difficult-to-control bleeding. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Artigrel-90 mg Tablet

Most side effects of Artigrel-90 mg are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Bleeding
• bruising
• shortness of breath (dyspnoea)
• headache
• dizziness
• nausea
• diarrhoea
• increased uric acid

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Artigrel-90 mg Tablet

Warnings and precautions

Increases risk of bleeding—seek urgent help for unusual bleeding, black stools, vomiting blood, severe headache, or weakness. Avoid use in active pathological bleeding or history of intracranial hemorrhage. Use caution in patients with bleeding disorders, recent surgery/trauma, severe liver disease, gout/hyperuricaemia, or asthma/COPD (may worsen breathlessness). Do not discontinue without doctor advice (risk of heart attack/stent thrombosis). Inform surgeon/dentist before procedures.

Do not take Artigrel-90 mg if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with active bleeding, a bleeding disorder, or a recent bleed into the brain.

Interactions with other medicines

Other anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, heparins, DOACs, clopidogrel), NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen), strong CYP3A inhibitors (ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, ritonavir), strong CYP3A inducers (rifampicin, phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital), simvastatin/lovastatin (higher levels—dose limits may apply), digoxin (monitor levels), grapefruit juice (may increase levels)

How to store Artigrel-90 mg Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from moisture and light. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Artigrel-90 mg Tablet

Carry a card or note saying which blood thinner you take. Take it at the same time every day; a missed dose leaves you less protected. Use paracetamol rather than an anti-inflammatory for ordinary aches, unless your doctor says otherwise.
