Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as community-acquired pneumonia, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis, acute bacterial sinusitis, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, otitis media, skin and soft tissue infections, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections
Cefpodoxime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefpodoxime from enzymatic breakdown by resistant bacteria, improving coverage.
Oral tablet; take exactly as prescribed. Usually taken with food to improve absorption and reduce stomach upset; swallow whole with water. Complete the full course even if you feel better.
