Cilnigreat-5 mg Tablet contains Cilnidipine 5 mg. It belongs to the Calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine; L- and N-type calcium channel blocker) class of medicines.

How Cilnigreat-5 mg Tablet works

Cilnidipine is a calcium channel blocker that inhibits L-type and N-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle. This relaxes and widens blood vessels, lowering peripheral resistance and blood pressure; N-type blockade may also reduce sympathetic nerve activity.

How to take Cilnigreat-5 mg Tablet

Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet whole with water. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice; monitor blood pressure regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in liver impairment; dose adjustment/monitoring may be needed. May cause dizziness—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know the effect. Monitor for excessive fall in blood pressure, especially at initiation or with other antihypertensives. Use cautiously in severe aortic stenosis, heart failure, or if prone to hypotension. Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with very low blood pressure or with severe narrowing of the aortic valve.

Interactions with other medicines

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g., ketoconazole, itraconazole, clarithromycin, ritonavir) may increase cilnidipine levels, CYP3A4 inducers (e.g., rifampicin, carbamazepine, phenytoin) may reduce effect, grapefruit juice may increase levels, NSAIDs may reduce antihypertensive effect in some patients

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
