Clavix 75 Tablet contains Clopidogrel (75mg). It belongs to the P2Y12 inhibitor (Thienopyridine antiplatelet) class of medicines.

How Clavix 75 Tablet works

Clopidogrel is an antiplatelet medicine that irreversibly blocks the platelet P2Y12 (ADP) receptor. This prevents platelet activation and aggregation, reducing formation of harmful blood clots in arteries.

How to take Clavix 75 Tablet

Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time; can be taken with or without food; swallow whole with water; do not stop without medical advice, especially after stent/ACS.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause serious and difficult-to-control bleeding. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Risk of serious bleeding; seek help for black stools, blood in vomit/urine, unusual bruising. Inform doctor before surgery/dental procedures. Use caution in liver disease, history of bleeding disorders, peptic ulcer. Rare: thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP) signs include fever, weakness, neurological symptoms, low platelets. Some medicines (e.g., omeprazole/esomeprazole) can reduce effect.

Do not take Clavix if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with active bleeding, a bleeding disorder, or a recent bleed into the brain.

Store below 30°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light; keep in original strip and out of reach of children.

You have been prescribed Clavix 75 Tablet to help prevent blood clots. For best results, take it at the same time every day. Clavix 75 Tablet increases your risk of bleeding. Be careful while shaving, cutting fingernails or toenails or using sharp objects. Do not discontinue using the medicine without consulting your doctor as this may increase your chances of having another heart attack or stroke. If you are scheduled to undergo a surgery or dental treatment, you may be asked to stop taking Clavix 75 Tablet temporarily.
