Clavix AS 75 Tablet contains Clopidogrel (75mg) + Aspirin (75mg). It belongs to the COX inhibitor (Aspirin) + P2Y12 inhibitor (Clopidogrel) class of medicines.

How Clavix AS 75 Tablet works

Aspirin inhibits COX-1 and reduces thromboxane A2 formation, lowering platelet aggregation. Clopidogrel blocks platelet P2Y12 receptors; together they provide stronger clot prevention than either alone.

How to take Clavix AS 75 Tablet

Take as prescribed, usually once daily with water, preferably after food to reduce gastric irritation; do not crush/chew unless advised; do not stop abruptly without cardiologist advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause serious and difficult-to-control bleeding. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Higher bleeding risk with dual therapy; seek urgent care for severe headache, black stools, vomiting blood, or uncontrolled bleeding. Avoid in active peptic ulcer/bleeding, aspirin allergy, severe asthma triggered by NSAIDs, severe liver disease. Inform doctor before surgery/dental work. Monitor for GI irritation/ulcer; may need gastroprotection as advised.

Do not take Clavix AS if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with active bleeding, a bleeding disorder, or a recent bleed into the brain.

Interactions with other medicines

Anticoagulants (warfarin, DOACs), NSAIDs, other antiplatelets, SSRIs/SNRIs, corticosteroids, methotrexate (aspirin can increase toxicity), PPIs (omeprazole/esomeprazole reduce clopidogrel effect), alcohol (increases GI bleed risk)
