Coversyl 2 Tablet contains Perindopril erbumine (2mg). It belongs to the ACE inhibitor class of medicines.

How Coversyl 2 Tablet works

Perindopril is an ACE inhibitor that decreases angiotensin II formation, relaxing blood vessels and lowering blood pressure. It reduces workload on the heart and can improve cardiac outcomes in selected patients. It may also provide kidney protective effects in some patients.

How to take Coversyl 2 Tablet

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Coversyl 2mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, with dizziness, fainting and a fast or slow pulse. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Do not take Coversyl if

Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines.

Interactions with other medicines

Potassium supplements/salt substitutes, spironolactone/eplerenone, NSAIDs, lithium, diuretics and other antihypertensives, aliskiren (especially in diabetes)
