Oral tablet; take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day, with or without food. Maintain adequate hydration; continue diet and exercise advice. Do not stop or change dose without medical advice.

Use caution in kidney disease; not recommended in severe renal impairment/end-stage kidney disease. May increase risk of hypotension in elderly/diuretics. Rare risk of pancreatitis with sitagliptin—seek care for severe abdominal pain. Inform doctor before surgery/acute illness; may need temporary stop. Monitor blood glucose and kidney function as advised.
