A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Dapafree-5 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Risk of dehydration/low blood pressure—use caution in elderly, on diuretics, or with low BP. May increase risk of genital/urinary infections; seek care for fever, pain on urination, genital symptoms. Rare but serious: ketoacidosis (even with normal sugars), Fournier’s gangrene, severe allergic reactions. Monitor kidney function; effectiveness reduces with significant renal impairment and use may be contraindicated at low eGFR—consult doctor. Hold during major surgery or acute serious illness; discuss sick-day rules.
