How Diapride M 1 works

Diapride M2 Tablet SR is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Glimepiride and Metformin. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Metformin is a biguanide which works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.

How to take Diapride M 1

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Diapride M2 Tablet SR is to be taken with food.<br>Diapride M2 Tablet SR may cause stomach upset if taken empty stomach.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Diapride M as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

BreastfeedingDiapride M2 Tablet SR is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
AlcoholTaking metformin with alcohol can cause lactic acidosis and you may experience malaise, respiratory distress, slow or irregular heartbeat, sleepiness, stomach upset, or other unusual symptoms.
KidneyDiapride M2 Tablet SR should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Diapride M2 Tablet SR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Use of Diapride M2 Tablet SR is, however, not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advisable while you are taking this medicine.
LiverDiapride M2 Tablet SR should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Diapride M2 Tablet SR may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Diapride M2 Tablet SR is generally started with low dose in patients with mild to moderate liver disease and its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
