How Fiberlact Powder works

Fiberlact Tablet is a combination of lactitol monohydrate and ispaghula. Lactitol monohydrate works by increasing peristalsis (contractions) in the colon, leading to an increase in the number of bowel movements. Ispaghula husk works by absorbing water and increasing stool volume, making it softer and easier to pass out.

How to take Fiberlact Powder

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Fiberlact Tablet should be taken with or after food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Fiberlact Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Fiberlact than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Fiberlact Powder

Most side effects of Fiberlact are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Fiberlact Powder

Store Fiberlact below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Expert advice for Fiberlact Powder

Fiberlact Tablet is prescribed for short-term relief from constipation. It should preferably be taken at bedtime as it requires 6 to 8 hours to show effect. Take it at least 2 hours after taking other medicines, as it may interfere with the absorption of other medicines. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach disorders such as appendicitis or a blockage in your bowel. Do not take any other laxative along with Fiberlact Tablet without consulting your doctor. Some healthy tips to prevent constipation from happening: Eat more fiber in your diet. Recommended daily intake is 20-35g Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day Exercise regularly at least 3 times per week Do not hold in stool as that can worsen bowel issues.
