Glycomet Trio 2/0.3 Tablet contains Glimepiride (2mg) + Metformin (500mg) + Voglibose (0.2mg). It belongs to the Sulfonylurea + Biguanide + Alpha-glucosidase inhibitor class of medicines.

How Glycomet Trio 2/0.3 Tablet works

Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Glimepiride stimulates the pancreas to release insulin. Voglibose delays carbohydrate absorption in the gut by inhibiting alpha‑glucosidase enzymes, reducing post‑meal glucose spikes.

How to take Glycomet Trio 2/0.3 Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with food (typically with the first main meal); swallow whole if prolonged‑release—do not crush/chew. Follow diet and exercise advice and monitor blood glucose regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Glycomet Trio 2 Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause severe and prolonged low blood sugar, which may lead to fits or unconsciousness. It can cause a dangerous build-up of acid in the blood, with vomiting, severe weakness and laboured breathing. It may cause low blood sugar and marked stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney or liver disease. Not for people with severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an acute illness causing dehydration. Not for people who have had diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with heart failure, active bladder cancer or unexplained blood in the urine.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol (increases hypoglycaemia and lactic acidosis risk), iodinated contrast media, insulin/other antidiabetics (additive hypoglycaemia), beta‑blockers (may mask hypoglycaemia), corticosteroids and thiazide diuretics (raise glucose), ACE inhibitors (may increase hypoglycaemia), fluoroquinolones (glucose disturbances), cimetidine (may increase metformin levels)

How to store Glycomet Trio 2/0.3 Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep in original blister and out of reach of children.

Glycomet Trio 2 Tablet SR can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines or alcohol, or if you delay or miss a meal. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
