How Losartas Ht works

It works by blocking the hormone angiotensin thereby relaxing blood vessels. This allows the blood to flow more smoothly and the heart to pump more efficiently. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic that removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Over time it also relaxes blood vessels and improves blood flow.

How to take Losartas Ht

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Losartas-HT Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Losartas-HT Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Losartas Ht than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Most side effects of Losartas Ht are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

You have been prescribed Losartas-HT Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure. It can be taken with or without food. Losartas-HT Tablet may cause dehydration. Drink plenty of fluids and inform your doctor if you develop extreme thirst, very dry mouth or muscle weakness. It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. Use of Losartas-HT Tablet during pregnancy or breastfeeding is unsafe. It may also decrease the risk of stroke and heart attacks.
