Risk of dehydration and hypotension, especially in elderly, on low-salt diet, or with vomiting/diarrhoea. Use caution in kidney impairment, liver disease, gout (may raise uric acid), diabetes (may affect glucose), and in patients with electrolyte imbalance. Avoid use in severe renal impairment/anuria. Seek help if swelling of face/lips, breathing difficulty (angioedema), severe dizziness/fainting, or decreased urine occurs.
Do not take Myotan Ct 40/12.5 mg if
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy — it can seriously harm the developing baby. Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines. Not for people who are unable to pass urine, or who are severely dehydrated.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), NSAIDs (reduced effect and kidney risk), lithium (increased lithium toxicity), potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics/salt substitutes (risk of high potassium with telmisartan), diuretics or corticosteroids (electrolyte imbalance), ACE inhibitors or aliskiren (increased renal/hyperkalaemia risk; avoid in diabetes with aliskiren), digoxin (telmisartan may increase levels), antidiabetic medicines (may require dose adjustment)
