How Nuroday-P SR works

Nuroday-P SR 75mg/1500mcg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Methylcobalamin and Pregabalin. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B, which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Pregabalin is an alpha-2 delta ligand that decreases pain by modulating the calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).

How to take Nuroday-P SR

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Nuroday-P SR 75mg/1500mcg Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Nuroday-P SR 75mg/1500mcg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause serious harm, because the body passes surplus B vitamins out in the urine. It can cause deep drowsiness, confusion, unsteadiness and slowed breathing, especially with an opioid or alcohol. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Nuroday-P SR

Most side effects of Nuroday-P SR are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Nuroday-P SR

Warnings and precautions

Tingling, numbness or burning in the hands and feet should be assessed by a doctor rather than self-treated — a supplement does not address the cause. Folic acid can mask a vitamin B12 deficiency while nerve damage continues, so B12 should be checked before taking folic acid long term. Bright yellow urine after a B-complex dose is expected and harmless. This medicine causes drowsiness and unsteadiness, particularly when you start it or the dose goes up. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you. Never stop it suddenly. Stopping abruptly can cause anxiety, sleeplessness, sweating and, in people taking it for epilepsy, fits. Your doctor will taper it. Tell your doctor about any change in mood or any thoughts of harming yourself. The dose is usually built up slowly from a low starting point — follow the schedule your doctor gave you rather than jumping to the full dose. Pregabalin comes under Schedule H1 from 16 November 2026 and will then need a prescription and a pharmacy register entry.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack.

Interactions with other medicines

Long-term metformin, acid-reducing medicines and some anti-epileptics lower B12 or folate levels. Tell your doctor if you take levodopa, as vitamin B6 can reduce its effect. Opioid painkillers, alcohol, sleeping tablets and antihistamines all add to the drowsiness, and the combination with opioids can dangerously slow breathing. Antacids reduce the absorption of gabapentin — separate them by a couple of hours.

How to store Nuroday-P SR

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Nuroday-P SR 75mg/1500mcg Tablet may cause dizziness or sleepiness. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. To lower the chances of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Nuroday-P SR 75mg/1500mcg Tablet, as it may cause excessive sleepiness. Inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts or behavior. Do not stop taking the medication suddenly without talking to your doctor. Nuroday-P SR 75mg/1500mcg Tablet may cause weight gain. Exercise regularly and eat a balanced diet to manage it.
