Poc Glucospot Combi contains Glucose test strips (for glucometer) + 1 lancing device (microlet/pen) (exact strip chemistry and lancet specification: unknown). It belongs to the In-vitro diagnostic medical device (glucose test strips + lancing device) class of medicines.
For self-monitoring of blood glucose (SMBG) in people with diabetes; used with a compatible glucometer to measure capillary blood glucose from fingertip/alternate site as per device instructions.
The test strip contains reagents that react with glucose in a small drop of blood. The glucometer measures the electrical/optical signal generated by this reaction and displays the blood glucose value.
Use only with the compatible glucometer model specified on the pack/insert. Wash and dry hands, insert a new strip into the meter, use a new sterile lancet with the lancing device to obtain a drop of blood, apply blood to the strip, and read the result. Do not reuse lancets; discard strips/lancets safely. Follow the user manual for coding/calibration (if applicable).
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Poc Glucospot Combi as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Poc Glucospot Combi than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Poc Glucospot Combi are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Generally safe (diagnostic device); consult doctor for target glucose ranges in pregnancy |
|---|---|
| Alcohol | No known interaction (device); alcohol intake can affect blood glucose readings/levels |
| Habit forming | No |
For in-vitro diagnostic use only; not a medicine. Use strips before expiry and keep vial tightly closed; exposure to heat/humidity can give inaccurate readings. Do not share lancing device or lancets to avoid transmission of infections. Results can be affected by improper sampling, insufficient blood, contaminated hands (sugar), dehydration, high/low hematocrit, certain drugs (e.g., high-dose vitamin C) and severe illness—confirm unexpected readings and consult a clinician.
Certain substances may interfere with glucose strip readings depending on strip chemistry/meter (e.g., high-dose ascorbic acid/vitamin C, uric acid, acetaminophen, dopamine, maltose/galactose/xylose with specific GDH-PQQ systems). Check the product insert for known interferences for this specific strip.
Store strips as per label, typically in original vial at 2–30°C, away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture. Do not refrigerate or freeze unless specified. Keep vial tightly closed; use strip promptly after removing.
