Composition of Rosumyk -F5 Tablet

Rosumyk -F5 Tablet contains Rosuvastatin 5 mg + Fenofibrate 145 mg (tablet). It belongs to the Statin (HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor) + Fibrate (PPAR‑α agonist) class of medicines.

How Rosumyk -F5 Tablet works

Rosuvastatin is an HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that reduces cholesterol production in the liver and lowers LDL and total cholesterol. Fenofibrate activates PPAR‑α, increasing lipolysis and clearance of triglyceride‑rich particles, thereby lowering triglycerides and may raise HDL.

How to take Rosumyk -F5 Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily. Can be taken with or without food (preferably at the same time each day). Continue diet/exercise and avoid stopping without medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause immediate harm but may increase the risk of muscle and liver injury. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Rosumyk -F5 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Not recommended in active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of liver enzymes. Risk of muscle injury (myopathy/rhabdomyolysis) increases with higher doses, kidney impairment, hypothyroidism, elderly, and with interacting medicines—seek care for unexplained muscle pain/weakness, fever, dark urine. Use caution in kidney disease; dose adjustment/avoidance may be needed. Fenofibrate can increase risk of gallstones and pancreatitis; stop and consult if severe abdominal pain occurs. Regular monitoring of lipid profile, liver function tests and kidney function is advised.

Do not take Rosumyk -F5 if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Not for people with active liver disease.

Interactions with other medicines

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk), cyclosporine/tacrolimus (increased toxicity), gemfibrozil/other fibrates (increased myopathy risk), niacin (increased myopathy risk), colchicine (myopathy risk), macrolide antibiotics and azole antifungals (statin levels may increase), HIV protease inhibitors (statin levels may increase), antacids containing aluminum/magnesium (reduce rosuvastatin absorption if taken together—separate dosing)
