Rozula 10 contains Rosuvastatin (10mg). It belongs to the HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor (Statin) class of medicines.

How Rozula 10 works

Rosuvastatin is an HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor (statin) that reduces cholesterol synthesis in the liver. It increases LDL receptor activity, enhancing clearance of LDL cholesterol from the blood and lowering triglycerides while modestly raising HDL.

How to take Rozula 10

Tablet; take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time, with or without food. Continue diet/exercise; do not stop without medical advice. If a dose is missed, take it when remembered unless it is close to the next dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Rozula 10mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not take two doses within 12 hours.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause immediate harm but may increase the risk of muscle and liver injury. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Rozula 10

Most side effects of Rozula are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• constipation
• muscle pain (myalgia)
• weakness
• dizziness
• increased liver enzymes

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Not recommended in active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevation of liver enzymes. Seek medical help if muscle pain/tenderness/weakness occurs (risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis, higher with high doses, elderly, kidney disease, hypothyroidism). Use with caution in renal impairment; dose adjustments may be required. Monitor liver function and lipid profile as advised. Inform doctor if you have diabetes risk, alcohol use, or thyroid problems.

Do not take Rozula if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Not for people with active liver disease.

Cyclosporine, gemfibrozil/other fibrates, niacin (high dose), protease inhibitors (e.g., lopinavir/ritonavir, atazanavir), warfarin/other anticoagulants, ezetimibe, antacids containing aluminium/magnesium (separate dosing), colchicine

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Rozula 10mg Tablet is generally safe and well-tolerated; however, it may cause diarrhea, gas, or an upset stomach in some people. If any of these happen to you, take it with food. Inform your doctor if you experience fatigue, muscle weakness, or muscle pain. Your doctor may check your liver function before starting the treatment and regularly thereafter. Inform your doctor if you notice signs of liver problems, such as stomach pains, unusually dark urine, or yellowing of skin or eyes. Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease, or diabetes before starting treatment with this medicine. If you are diabetic, monitor your blood sugar level regularly, as Rozula 10mg Tablet may cause an increase in your blood sugar level. Do not take Rozula 10mg Tablet if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or breastfeeding.
