How Samshot D3 Suspension works

Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) is converted in the body to active vitamin D, which increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate. It helps maintain normal bone mineralization and supports muscle function.

How to take Samshot D3 Suspension

Oral suspension/drops: use as advised by the doctor. Shake well before use, measure with the provided dropper/cup, and take by mouth. Can be taken with or after food (preferably with a meal containing fat for better absorption).

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Samshot D3 as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Samshot D3 than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Samshot D3 Suspension

Most side effects of Samshot D3 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite
• headache
• weakness
• increased thirst
• increased urination

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Use only under medical advice if you have kidney disease, kidney stones, hypercalcaemia, hypervitaminosis D, sarcoidosis or other granulomatous disorders. Excess intake may cause vitamin D toxicity leading to high calcium levels. Monitor calcium/vitamin D levels if on high doses or prolonged therapy, especially in children and elderly.

Interactions with other medicines

Thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcaemia), digoxin/other cardiac glycosides (arrhythmia risk with hypercalcaemia), anticonvulsants like phenytoin/phenobarbital and rifampicin (reduced vitamin D effect), corticosteroids (reduced absorption/effect), cholestyramine/orlistat (reduced absorption), aluminium/magnesium antacids in renal impairment (risk of toxicity)

How to store Samshot D3 Suspension

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from light and moisture. Keep container tightly closed. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children.
