Teczine M Syrup contains Levocetirizine (2.5mg/5ml). It belongs to the Second-generation H1 antihistamine class of medicines.

How Teczine M Syrup works

Cetirizine is a second-generation antihistamine that blocks peripheral H1 receptors. It reduces the effects of histamine responsible for allergy symptoms like itching, sneezing and runny nose, with relatively less sedation than older antihistamines.

How to take Teczine M Syrup

Oral syrup. Use as prescribed by a doctor; measure dose with a calibrated spoon/cup. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Teczine M as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Teczine M than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Teczine M Syrup

Most side effects of Teczine M are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

How to store Teczine M Syrup

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Keep bottle tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Teczine M Syrup

Try giving the medicines at the same time each day to help you remember. Your child may feel sleepy or dizzy after each dose of Teczine Syrup. If this happens, make your child sit or lie down and ask them to be careful while performing tasks that require mental focus. Avoid giving Teczine Syrup with fatty meals and fruit juice, as both can reduce the absorption of the medicine. Teczine Syrup can trigger constipation in your child. Give plenty of fluids and a fiber-rich diet to your child. Teczine Syrup should be avoided in children who are less than 4 years of age, as there is a risk of respiratory distress.
