Use with caution in asthma/COPD (may worsen bronchospasm), diabetes (can mask hypoglycemia symptoms), thyroid disorders, peripheral vascular disease, kidney or liver impairment, and in elderly. ARBs like telmisartan can cause increased potassium—avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless advised; monitor serum potassium and kidney function. Contraindicated in pregnancy; avoid in bilateral renal artery stenosis. Seek care for severe dizziness/fainting, very slow pulse, breathing difficulty, swelling of face/lips, or reduced urine output.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy — it can seriously harm the developing baby. Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines. Not for people with a very slow heart rate, certain heart block disorders, or uncontrolled heart failure. Generally avoided in severe asthma.
