Telmisartan 20 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure); may be used to reduce risk of cardiovascular events (heart attack/stroke) in high-risk patients as advised by a doctor
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks the AT1 receptor, causing relaxation of blood vessels and reducing aldosterone effects. This lowers blood pressure and decreases strain on the heart.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice; monitor blood pressure regularly.
Common side effects of TELMIGET 20MG TAB may include:
Avoid use in pregnancy (can harm fetus). Use caution in kidney disease, liver impairment, dehydration/low salt, heart failure, or history of angioedema. Monitor kidney function and serum potassium, especially in elderly or those on diuretics. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Not recommended with aliskiren in diabetics; caution in renal artery stenosis.
