How Telmiget 20 mg Tablet works
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB). It blocks the AT1 receptor, causing relaxation of blood vessels and reducing aldosterone effects. This lowers blood pressure and decreases strain on the heart.
How to take Telmiget 20 mg Tablet
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow tablet with water. Do not stop suddenly without medical advice; monitor blood pressure regularly.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Missed dose and overdose
If you miss a dose
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
If you take too much
An overdose of this medicine can cause a severe fall in blood pressure, with dizziness, fainting and a fast or slow pulse. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Not recommended with aliskiren in diabetics; caution in renal artery stenosis.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Must not be used in pregnancy — it can seriously harm the developing baby. Not for people with narrowing of both kidney arteries, or a history of swelling of the face and throat caused by this group of medicines.
Interactions with other medicines
Potassium supplements/potassium-sparing diuretics (e.g., spironolactone, amiloride), ACE inhibitors or other ARBs, aliskiren, NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, diclofenac) may reduce effect/worsen kidney function, lithium (increased toxicity), diuretics (additive hypotension), trimethoprim (risk of hyperkalemia)
