Telmisartan 40 mg + Chlorthalidone 6.25 mg (tablet)
Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with telmisartan alone.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, lowering blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic that helps remove excess salt and water through urine, reducing blood volume and blood pressure. The combination provides additive BP control.
Take as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Can be taken with or without food; swallow the tablet with water. Because it contains a diuretic, morning dosing is preferred to reduce night-time urination. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.
Common side effects of TELMIGET CT 6.25 may include:
Monitor blood pressure, kidney function and electrolytes (especially potassium and sodium). Risk of dehydration and hypotension, particularly in elderly or those on diuretics/low-salt diet. Use with caution in kidney or liver impairment; may worsen gout (raises uric acid). Not recommended in pregnancy; stop and consult a doctor if pregnancy occurs. Seek urgent help for facial/lip swelling or breathing difficulty (angioedema).
