Telmisartan 40 mg + Metoprolol succinate (extended-release) 50 mg (per tablet)
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with a single medicine; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular complications related to hypertension.
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, lowering blood pressure. Metoprolol succinate is a cardioselective beta-blocker that slows heart rate and reduces the heart’s workload, helping further reduce blood pressure and control palpitations.
Take by mouth as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time each day. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew (extended-release metoprolol). Can be taken with or without food; continue regularly even if you feel well.
Common side effects of TELMIGET M BETA 50 TAB may include:
Prescription-only medicine. May cause dizziness—avoid driving if affected. Do not stop metoprolol suddenly (may worsen angina/trigger heart issues); taper only under medical advice. Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask low sugar symptoms), slow heart rate, heart block, heart failure, kidney or liver impairment. Telmisartan can increase potassium—avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless advised. Monitor BP, pulse, kidney function and electrolytes periodically.
