Telmisartan 40 mg + Metoprolol succinate (extended-release) 50 mg
Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure), especially when single-drug therapy is not adequate; helps reduce risk of cardiovascular events in appropriate patients as advised by doctor
Telmisartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that relaxes blood vessels by blocking angiotensin II, lowering blood pressure. Metoprolol succinate is a beta-1 selective blocker that reduces heart rate and the force of contraction, decreasing cardiac workload and blood pressure.
Take by mouth as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with water; do not crush or chew (ER component). Can be taken with or without food; do not stop suddenly without medical advice.
Common side effects of TELMODOR M 40/50 may include:
May cause dizziness/low blood pressure—use caution while driving. Do not stop metoprolol abruptly (risk of worsening angina/heart rhythm issues). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask low sugar symptoms), thyroid disorders, bradycardia, heart block, heart failure, kidney or liver disease. Telmisartan can increase potassium—avoid potassium supplements/salt substitutes unless advised. Monitor BP, pulse, kidney function and electrolytes. Seek urgent help for fainting, very slow pulse, breathing difficulty, swelling of face/lips (allergy).
