If you miss a dose

An overdose of this medicine can cause a dangerously slow heartbeat, a severe fall in blood pressure, wheezing and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions
Schedule H: use only on prescription. Do not stop abruptly (may worsen angina or cause rebound hypertension). Use with caution in asthma/COPD (may precipitate bronchospasm), diabetes (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms), peripheral vascular disease, depression, thyroid disorders, myasthenia gravis, and in elderly. Contraindicated in severe bradycardia, second/third-degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, and uncontrolled heart failure. Monitor BP and pulse regularly; seek care if fainting, wheezing, or very slow heartbeat occurs.
Do not take Tenormin if
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a very slow heart rate, certain heart block disorders, or uncontrolled heart failure. Generally avoided in severe asthma.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension),verapamil/diltiazem (risk of severe bradycardia/heart block),digoxin (bradycardia),clonidine (rebound hypertension if clonidine stopped first),NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect),insulin/oral antidiabetics (masks hypoglycemia),antiarrhythmics like amiodarone (bradycardia),anesthetic agents (enhanced hypotension)

It may cause dizziness. If this happens to you, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position. It can hide symptoms of low blood sugar if you are diabetic. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly. Do not stop taking Tenormin 25 Tablet suddenly as it can cause your blood pressure to rise suddenly, thereby increasing the risk of heart attack and stroke.
