Glimepiride 2 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (non-insulin-dependent) to help control blood glucose along with diet and exercise; may be used alone or with other antidiabetic medicines as prescribed.
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates pancreatic beta cells to release insulin by closing ATP-sensitive potassium channels. This increases insulin secretion and helps lower blood glucose, especially after meals.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal. Swallow tablet with water; do not skip meals after taking it. Dose is individualized based on blood sugar; monitor glucose regularly.
Common side effects of TRIGLIMIMARK-2MG TAB may include:
Risk of hypoglycaemia increases with missed meals, strenuous exercise, alcohol intake, or overdose. Use with caution in elderly, malnourished, liver or kidney impairment, and in patients with adrenal/pituitary insufficiency. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Inform doctor if you have sulfonamide allergy; monitor for signs of low sugar (sweating, tremor, confusion).
