Ursodeoxycholic Acid (Ursodiol) 300 mg tablet
Dissolution of cholesterol gallstones (in selected patients), primary biliary cholangitis (PBC)/chronic cholestatic liver disease, cholestasis with raised bile acids (as prescribed)
Ursodeoxycholic acid is a hydrophilic bile acid that reduces cholesterol saturation in bile by decreasing hepatic cholesterol secretion and improving bile flow. It protects liver cells and bile ducts by reducing toxic bile acids and improving cholestasis.
Take the tablet orally as advised by the doctor, preferably with food or after meals. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew. Dose and duration depend on the condition (e.g., gallstones/PBC) and body weight.
Common side effects of URSOBILE 300 TAB may include:
Use only under medical supervision. Not suitable for non-cholesterol gallstones, calcified gallstones, acute gallbladder inflammation, biliary obstruction, or non-functioning gallbladder. Monitor liver function tests; response for gallstones may take months. Use caution in severe liver disease, pancreatitis, or if symptoms worsen; stop and seek care if severe diarrhoea occurs. May affect absorption of some medicines.
